The tank flap can be released manually if the central locking system should fail to operate.
Removing the side trim
Applies to: Saloon
To remove the right side trim, first pull the bar out of the mountings -A- Fig. 1.
Use a coin or similar to turn the two fasteners 90° anti-clockwise and remove them.
Swivel the bar upwards and pull out the trim. Put the trim down to the side (there is a power cable for the electrical socket* on the rear side of the trim).
Removing the side trim

To open the side trim on the right, use a coin or similar to turn the catch and release the cover -B- Fig. 1.

Releasing the tank flap manually
Release the ring from its holder and carefully pull the ring Fig. 2 Caution!. The tank flap is then released.
Press the left side of the tank flap to open it Fig. 3.
Caution!
Stop pulling the ring when you feel resistance (the release mechanism is not audible). Otherwise, you could damage the manual release mechanism.
