Placing a further call
Scroll the left thumbwheel -2-
Fig. 2 to select Hold and press the left thumbwheel. The call will then be placed on hold.
Press the button -3-. The Telephone submenu will be displayed Fig. 3.
Scroll the left thumbwheel to select the Directory or one of the call lists.
Press the left thumbwheel. A list of contacts
Fig. 4 will appear in the display of the driver information system.
Scroll the left thumbwheel to select a contact and press the left thumbwheel. The telephone connection is established and the active audio/video source is muted automatically.
When you have ended the current telephone call, the call that was holding remains on hold. To continue with the call on hold, select Resume and press the left thumbwheel.
The options available during a telephone call depend on the current telephone status. For example, if you have placed a call on hold, the Hold option will be replaced by Resume.
Hold/Resume
Select Hold to hold the call and Resume to continue talking. The call on hold is displayed in the driver information system.
Microphone off
Your caller cannot hear your private conversations when the microphone is off. You can still hear the caller. Microphone on appears in the MMI display.
Switch
You can switch between two phone calls (one of them will be on hold at any given time). The MMI display shows the active call, the call on hold and the length of time for the connection.
Select End call to end whichever call is active. The call on hold will remain in the hold queue and can be continued by selecting Resume.
Conference
Select Conference to set up a conference. The call on hold and the active call are added to the conference. Up to five callers can take part in a conference (depending on the network service).
To set up a further call, select Hold to place all the members of an existing conference on hold. You can then press button -3-
Fig. 2 to place another call to a contact in the directory or one of the call lists.
Select Resume if you want to retrieve all callers of an existing conference from the hold queue.
Replace
If you already have a call on hold and are talking to a second caller when a third call is received, the options Replace and Ignore will appear on the display of the driver information system.
If you select Replace, the active call will be replaced by the incoming call. If you select Ignore, the incoming call will be declined. The call on hold will remain in the hold queue.

- Did you know that you can also select the options during a call via the MMI control console Link?
- The option Call waiting must be activated on the MMI Link for you to be made aware of incoming calls during a conversation.
- The functions of the telephone depend on your mobile phone and whether they are supported by your mobile network service provider.
